Well at least they are going after their money....On Wednesday, the US announced that they are targeting the Sinaloa Cartel, Los Zetas and La Familia Michoacana by adding them to the list of banned foreign "drug kingpins,” This move allows the US government to seek criminal penalties against U.S. firms or individuals who provide weapons, launder money or transport drugs or cash for the organizations. Now, this is not a new program, in fact the targeting of drug trafficking organizations assets by the Treasury Department started in 1999-2000 and the focus of the program was on the Colombian Cartels… On the list are more than 70 kingpins and their organizations and 500 others who support them…. When this program initiated and the US government started targeting Mexican “Capos” the Mexican government was not too pleased and concerned that innocent companies and businessmen would be targeted by the US. This appears not to be an issue anymore… Banks also expressed some concern on the impact of this program, since holding an account of a person identify on this list could put the jeopardy…. The most affected by this program? Narco family members…
